Our Grade 1 students kicked off the New Year with an exciting “Camp on Campus” at school on Friday, 3rd January, and Saturday, 4th January 2025. On Friday morning, they arrived with all the essentials needed for their first overnight stay at school. After their regular school day ended, they attended an orientation with their teachers to discuss the plan for the evening and the expectations for their participation. The evening began with lively activities such as tug of war, hula hooping, and musical chairs with hula hoops. The fun continued with energetic music and dancing, allowing the children to fully embrace the spirit of the camp. After this burst of energy, the children set up their sleeping areas and freshened up for dinner. They enjoyed a delicious and nutritious meal before cleaning up together. Movie time followed, and the children watched Moana, captivated by its adventurous story. For many, it was their first time spending the night away from their parents, but they settled in comfortably and enjoyed a peaceful night’s sleep after their fun-filled day. Saturday morning began bright and early, with the children waking up, freshening up, and tidying their sleeping areas. They were served warm chocolate milk to start their day on a cheerful note. After a hearty breakfast, they gathered for another orientation to discuss the activities planned for the day. Their first adventure was a trip to Kandlakoya Oxygen Park for bird watching and trekking. At the aviary, the children were delighted to observe a variety of birds, including macaws, parrots, white pigeons, and even a white peacock. After their trek, they sat under the shade of trees to complete observation sheets, thoughtfully recording their experiences and impressions. On returning to school, they had lunch and spent the afternoon creating heartfelt ‘Thank You’ cards for their teachers, admin staff, support staff, and the catering team, expressing gratitude for making the camp a success. As the day drew to a close, the children packed their belongings, cleaned up the spaces they had used, and reflected on their memorable experiences. The “Camp on Campus” not only provided an opportunity for the children to bond with their classmates outside the classroom but also taught them valuable lessons in independence and teamwork. Our Grade 1 students made many beautiful memories during this enriching and fun-filled experience, which will surely stay with them for years to come.
