Our Primary Montessori children went on a field trip to a farmhouse near the school on Children’s Day. The children explored the farm, beginning with a visit to the cornfield where they observed corn growing on the maize plants. They also met the cows and calves, and the caretaker introduced the cows by name—Nandaki, Gopika, Govinda, and Ratnam. He demonstrated how milk is collected from the cows, and the children enjoyed feeding them freshly grown grass from the farm. The children also saw an ash gourd creeper, ridge gourd plants, and mango trees during their walk around the fields. Later, they played fun games in the garden and enjoyed snacks, with sweet corn being everyone’s favourite. It was a joyful day filled with rich farm experiences, learning, and plenty of play.
