The students of CBSE Grades 1–5 participated in a Neighbourhood Exploration Field Trip on 15th July 2026 as part of the school’s experiential learning programme. The objective of the visit was to help students understand the importance of community helpers and local establishments while connecting classroom learning with real-life experiences.
The first visit was to a Plant Nursery, where students observed a variety of indoor and outdoor plants, different types of soil, and various plant pots. They learned about the importance of plants in maintaining a healthy environment and promoting sustainable living.
The students then visited Srikara Grameena, a flour mill and wooden cold-pressed oil unit. They observed the processing of grains into flour and the extraction of edible oil from different oil seeds. The demonstration helped students understand traditional food processing methods and the importance of supporting local agriculture.
At Gayathri Supermarket, students explored different product sections and observed the billing process, digital payment methods, and product labels containing nutritional information, manufacturing and expiry dates, ingredients, and barcodes. The visit enhanced their understanding of organised retail and responsible consumer practices.
The final visit was to Telangana Grameena Bank, where students learned about the basic functions of a bank, account opening procedures, deposit and withdrawal slips, cash-counting machines, and locker facilities. The visit encouraged awareness about saving money and financial responsibility.
Overall, the field trip was highly informative and engaging. It successfully achieved its objectives by providing meaningful experiential learning,strengthening observation and inquiry skills, and helping students appreciate the services that contribute to a well-functioning community.
