Field Trip of Gr. 1,2 and 3 -Dhana Crop Sciences, R&D Farm.

Our young learners from Grades 1, 2, and 3 recently enjoyed a wonderful and insightful visit to a local farm, where learning came alive amid rows of green plants and the rich scent of soil!

The visit began at the seed beds, where the children met a researcher who explained how scientists test the seeds of different vegetables and fruits. They learned how seeds are carefully counted, planted, and observed to see how many sprout successfully. The researcher also showed how temperature inside the shed is monitored — helping students understand how even small changes can affect how well seeds grow.

As they moved around the farm, students saw firsthand how plants are nurtured with the right amount of water and nutrients. They walked through vibrant patches of crops in various stages of growth — from tender seedlings to fruit-bearing plants. The children were thrilled to see cucumbers, sponge gourd, ridge gourd, lady’s finger, chillies, pumpkins, tomatoes, and even watermelons growing in abundance!

The highlight of the day was when the students got to pick fresh cucumbers and juicy watermelons straight from the vines — a truly delightful farm-to-table experience! Their laughter and excitement filled the air as they tasted the fruits of nature’s care and human effort.

This enriching field trip helped our young explorers understand how patience, observation, and care are key to growing healthy plants. They learned how science and farming work hand in hand — from seed testing to harvesting.

As the students returned to school, their hearts were full of memories and their minds full of curiosity. They are already looking forward to their next visit to the farm, eager to see how much the plants have grown and to continue learning from nature’s classroom.
